Another project cook

Martin from Berlin Kitchen pointed me to another project cook (check last post). Carol cooks Keller is a project where Carol attempts to cook every recipe in the French Laundry cookbook. And she seems to be very serious as she even cooked tripe the other day......and I am not alone with my opinion that tripe is the most revolting thing ever. But I heard that dogs really like it. Anyway, Carol doesn't post any recipes from the book but her style of writing is fun. Her description of the smell of tripe made me laugh out loud this morning. Thanks Martin for the link.

I might have to attempt a project now myself.....since I have a couple of cookbooks (actually have to count them - not sure if I have reached hundred yet). Anyway, any suggestions of cookbook I might should try to cook every recipe from??????

And don't forget, the final of the Champions League is on tonight. Kick-off is at 7:45 with coverage starting from 7pm on RTE2. And of course you all will cheer for Manchester United. With the 2 strongest teams in the Premier League.....it will hopefully be a great game. I haven't decided on the wine tonight yet.....but it will be a special one....

Elke,

I will also watch the CL final and based on the fact that the german Michael Ballack plays for Chelsea I hope Chelsea will win. :)))

I will open a 2007 Fritz Haag, Riesling Kabinett feinherb (off-dry) which is a perfect match for a chicken curry.

Ouch......that hurts ;-) I might go for a 2005 Seleccion Especial Tempranillo. Or a 2005 RIMBERT,'Le Mas au Schiste', AOC Saint Chinian ...and yes, I am a vegetarian (since the tender age of 3 months - never liked the texture of it).

Good to know, so I recommend you only vegetarian or fish dishes in the future........ :-)

I love fish. Did you ever go to Bonaparte in Spandau? My nan and myself used to go there (saying that it is 12 years ago. They done a lovely Zander dish....yummy. The fish just melted on the tongue ;-)

No, the district Spandau is too far away! I live at Savigny-Platz which is in Charlottenburg near Ku´damm. Around the corner is the famous Delphi-Cinema, the Musical Theatre "Theater des Westens".
Also around the corner is the Best Chinese Restaurant in town "Good friends" and one of the best Sushi Restaurant "Kuchi". Or the traditional Lutter&Wegner with a wonderful big "Wiener Schnitzel.

Zander is one of the favourite fish in german restaurants and has indeed a sublime flavor.
