SlowFood in January - Not to be missed

Darina is holding A Celebration of Irish Pork at the Ballymaloe Cookery School on Saturday 17th January starting at 2pm. You can come and meet the organic pigs and see how they range freely and forage for food. Local pig-farmer Noreen Conroy will come along and demonstrate how to make sausages, and you’ll have the opportunity to give it a go yourself! They will also roast Pork on a spit, with big sandwiches to try! Entry for Slow Food members €30.00, entry for non-members €40.00
Also in January, they are holding A Fun Cookery Course for Children. The kids will learn how to make pizza, cupcakes, lemonade and much more!! This event is on Saturday 24th January, starting at 2.00pm at the Ballymaloe Cookery School. Children of Slow Food members €20.00 and children of non-members €25.00. This would be an ideal Christmas gift – it promises to be a really fun afternoon!
Finally, local spice guru and chef Arun Kapil of Green Saffron will be coming to Ballymaloe Cookery School to show us some traditional cooking techniques from India as well as demonstrating how to blend spices to make fantastic curries. As always, there will be the opportunity to taste everything at the end of the evening. This event will be held at the Ballymaloe Cookery School on Friday 20th February starting at 7.00pm. Slow Food members €30.00, non-members €40.00.
