Dinner Guest

According to the Irish Examiner, the nations favourite dinner guest if Rosanna Davison - and not only for the male population. I have to admit that she wouldn't be on my list (and that has nothing to do with the fact that she is fabulous looking and makes me look like Maxine on Prozac) but I was thinking who actually would be on the list of my most favourite dinner guests...and how many should I choose....

Apart from my friends - who come regularly anyway - I couldn't think of many to be honest. I am not into celeb gossip and I like my dinner guests to tuck in and not to count every pea on the plate. And I love people who have something to say - may it be about food, wine or anything (I try to stay clear of politics and religion). So who would be left.....

So here is what I came up with:

Albert Einstein - I think he is on everybody's list but he was known for his great sense of humour and I bet I would enjoy his company

Herbert von Karajan - I saw him once at the Berliner Philhamoniker and I was mesmerized. I am not sure about his sense of humour but I would have enjoyed his deep intellect.

Prof Stephen Hawkins - simply to ask him to explain the Black Hole to me.....the more I read about it the less I understand it. Also, I would love to learn more about this 'time theory'.....I bet we would bore the other dinner guests a lot (unless Mr Einstein is there at the same time but then they would have lost me already by the
end of the starter).

Statler & Waldorf from the Muppet Show.....my favourite characters from the show - they would be the highlight, apart from stomachache from too much laughing....

Let me know who you would like to invite.....

Hi Elke - so which of them are you bringing to Café Mao with you? Yup, your name was first out of the hat/champagne bucket for the Café Mao/iKi beer competition. Congratulations! You can see the draw here.

Hi Julian...I couldn't believe it when I saw that my name was picked out....our next wine tasting is 23rd August...I might make a competition out of it...otherwise I have to call the Muppet Show :-)

I will email you my postal address for the voucher - or you could bring it to the wine tasting if you and your lovely wife fancy an amateur tasting....(won't tell anyone your profession) :-)

Stephen Fry has been on my list for a while, he replaced Peter Ustinov when the latter died.
