Deasy's in Ring

Invited myself again over to Clonakilty to stay the weekend with Marjorie & Gordon and we had a lovely time again. This time we decided to go to Deasy's. They have been to Deasy's a couple of times but it was my first time. It is a pub that looks like a pub should and you wouldn't expect anything but normal grub stuff. A look at the regular changing menu will change your view completely. The menu is short but impressive. We skipped the starter (we had a lovely breakfast made by Gordon). Most dishes were fish dishes with one chicken dish and one vegetarian option. being a vegetarian who eats monkfish and brill file parcels with lemon butter cream & roasted vegetables. Gordon opted for the vegetarian option which was stuffed pepper with 3 cheeses, pecans and pumpkin seed pesto (may I say.....yyyyuuuuuuuummmmmm). I chose lemon sole with beetroot & caper relish and celeriac mash...if the chef wouldn't have been a girl, I would have fallen in love right there. The food was outstanding. The mash smooth and creamy, the fish cooked to perfection and the beetroot had still some bite and the capers did not overpower the flavour of the fish....I can only recommend Deasy's as a little gem...
