All tastings will be held in the Wine Board, 14 Whitefriars, Peter's Row, Aungier Street, Dublin 2 on Friday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Bookings are now being taken on the Wine Board website www.wineboard.ie and please note that these evenings book out quickly.

3. New Wave Spain. 7pm on Friday, March 27th . Cost €70
The last 25 years have seen dramatic changes in the Spanish wine world. Whereas before, Spain's reputation rested with the red wines of Rioja principally, nowadays there are many more regions producing world class wines. These are the wines, many of which are very limited in supply, that we shall taste on the evening and will include icon wines from Priorat, Ribero del Duero, Rioja and the Levante. For those who want to know the wines of those who are showing the way in Spain's winemaking.

4. Supertuscan Wines. 7pm on Friday, April 3rd. Cost €70
These wines are recognised as some of Italy's finest and they came about due to the vision of a few (now legendary) winemakers and producers. In true Italian style, they saw that great wines could be made by ignoring the restrictive rules that existed in the 1970 and 1980s. In doing so, they changed the face of Tuscan and Italian winemaking. The wine that gave the inspiration to them all, Sassicaia, will be tasted on the night along with other world famous names such as Cepparello, Rosso di Sera, Flaccinello della Piave and Ornellaia.

5. Bordeaux-Cru Classè St. Julien and Pauillac. 7pm on Friday, April 17th. Cost €70
A comparative tasting of some of the leading estates within Bordeaux. Year after year the two communes of St. Julien and Pauillac show that they are the most consistent appellations in the region. On this evening we'll be tasting many of the estates that are responsible for those reputations. Included will be wines from the following chateaux; Ducru Beaucaillou, Leoville Barton, Leoville Poyferre, Grand Puy Lacoste, Gruaud Larose, Batailley, and Langoa Barton
